On completion of this course delegates will a have wide knowledge of most aspects of achieving and maintaining safety in those workplaces containing potentially explosive atmospheres. EU and UK legislation is covered including personal and corporate responsibilities. Prior knowledge is not essential as the course includes the information necessary for those less experienced in the subject.

ATEX Mechanical Aspects 1.5 Day Course

On completion of this course delegates will have knowledge of achieving and maintaining safety in those workplaces containing potentially explosive atmospheres in the presence of non-electrical equipment ignition sources. EU and UK legislation is covered including personal and corporate responsibilities. The course content is intended for those personnel responsible for carrying out activities involving installation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical (non-electrical) ignition-capable equipment located in hazardous areas.

​On completion of this course delegates will be aware of all the relevant terminology of the hazardous area field and will understand the parameters of hazardous materials relevant to area classification assessments. Delegates will able to carry out basic hazardous area classification assessments using the techniques contained within BSEN60079-10 for indoor and outdoor situations using direct example and point source release methods of assessment.
